Speaking of mics… I just received my Placid Audio Carbonphone mic!!!

I first heard this thing when while The Polyphonic Spree was soundchecking in Brighton, UK.

I’m familiar with the Copperphone mics (they’ve got one at The End NYC).  But this was different, like a 1970’s K-mart public address system in only the most pleasing way. I knew right then I must have one.

 
So I asked about it and it turns out their bass player (and one hell of a nice guy) Mark Pirro was the force behind Placid Audio.  Who knew?
